Could be either one if they are not painful and average five minutes apart when happening they are Braxton however if you feel any lower back pain or spotting go to the hospital I delivered at 25 weeks with my first child and it was so scarey. Good Luck

I would be inclined to say Braxton Hicks, but having gone through preterm labor at 23 weeks followed by numerous trips to the hospital, 2 months bed-rest, lots of meds, I'm going to have to tell you it is better to be safe than sorry. Things to watch for if you aren't convinced you should go:

change in discharge - if it turns colors or gets thicker
cramps - even mild ones at your stage
the contractions are constant despite changing position
you feel pressure with the contractions
lower back ache
constant leaking of fluid
and of course the obvious - a gush of fluid

When you feel the contractions drink 3 glasses of water and eat a snack and then either sit down or get up and walk - the opposite of what you were doing before they started. If they don't stop after one hour get to the hospital.

Good luck!

Go to the doctor you shouldn't have any contractions this early, whether they are real or braxton hicks it is too early

Usually at this stage its just braxton hicks. They shouldnt be overly coordinated, just a feeling like you want to bear down.

Also, they're caused by stress, dehydration, and tiredness. Make sure you avoid all those things.

And go have your doctor check your cervix and listen to the baby's heart rate, you'll feel better after that.

Probably braxton hicks because they are so irregular. If you think the are becoming more regular, or you think you may be in labour, get to the ER.

I heard if you drink a couple of full glasses of water and it doesn't stop then you maybe in labor. dehydration can cause contractions. so try drinking lots of water and see if it helps
