Gohar Mumtaz, is a Pakistani musician and the founder of a band JAL. Gohar was born on July 28th, 1981 in Faisalabad and lived most of his life in Faisalabad. This 24 year old, with help from Mekaal Hasan, composed music & lyrics for songs such as "Woh Lamhay", "Aadat", and "Dil Haarey", which have become pop anthems across the Indian sub-continent. He sold his bicycle to get a guitar when he was in college. Gohar came up with the lyrics to some songs when he broke his leg in Faisalabad during his FSc, and was bed-ridden for 6 months. Moving to Lahore, he made up his mind to form a band. He formed Jal, which comprised of himself on guitars and Atif Aslam as the lead vocalist. The duo achieved great success with their first single, Aadat, but due to differences of opinion and controversies the duo split. Atif, who left to pursue a solo career was replaced by Farhan Saeed. Jal now consists of Gohar, Farhan, and Shazi, a new bass player.

i couldn't find anything that shows he is not having good terms with farhan. they are good friends up to now. he's a cool guy.
