There is a "retract your bid" link on the 'number of bids' page, listed in the auction/seller description area of the auction page.
It is a little unusual to "accidentally" confirm since not only do you have to actually place a bid, but then confirm that you want to go through with the transaction... so I don't know if eBay allows these retractions easily. A wrong amount is certainly understandable and acceptable retraction material though.
Otherwise, check with seller... They can also remove your bid.

Hope that someone over bids what you did. Otherwise you might want to try and contact the seller and see if they will relist the item. You might just have to end up purchasing the item if you win in order to avoid the negative feedback.

You can retract your bid. As bad as ebay hates it, you cant get negative feedback if you dont win the item. I would contact the seller first though.

At any time before the ending of the item you can cancel your bid.
Just login to eBay and write down the Item number of the item you want to cancel the bid on.
It is a simple form you fill out and poof your done. :)
Follow this link.

I too did that a long time ago and ended up with a $6000 ring. Of course, I love it now, but was really freaking at the time. You can always directly e-mail the seller and inform them you made an error. Please do so before the auction is over or it will cause bigger issues

I would try contacting the seller first, this would be best and if to no avail, then try contacting Ebay customer service. It happens and hopefully the seller will understand.
