im thinking of buying a daewoo nexia because there cheap and a low insurance bracket but im not sure if there any good, i just want to know a bit about them and what they drive like are they prone to breaking down general stuff like that, any help will be great, and if anyones selling one cheap drop me the details chears

The Nexia is effectively the Opel/Vauxhall Astra from 1985.
It has more modern engines in the 16v versions, but otherwise is little different mechanically. However parts are not often interchangeable - and unique Daewoo parts may be more difficult to find, or more expensive (new parts will be available via Chevrolet dealers, but your local scrappy won't have much).
All versions are quite thirsty, but the 1.5 8v is especially uneconomical with fuel. Just to make things worse, the fuel tank is difficult to fill.
They are reasonably reliable, but with a few niggles and rattles, but make sure the timing belt and tensioner have been changed on schedule (just like the Vauxhalls). Also check the suspension springs - these have been known to break.
The driving experience is much like a 20-year-old Astra, but not quite so good (suspension settings are slightly different, and spring/damper tolerances not as fine).
I doubt a Nexia would be the best place for your money. If you're buying a car for the lowest price possible go for something there are a lot of around, so parts will also be cheap - maybe a Rover 214 (less troublesome than the 216), or a post-1995 Escort, or similar age Astra, Citroën ZX, Peugeot 306, Toyota Corolla, Honda Civic, even an early Nissan Almera.

NO NO NO!!! It's a daewoo!! How can it be good??? Trust me if you want a good cheap car and on a low insurance bracket go for something thats going to last you at least a couple of years without costing you money in repairs!!!! Like peugeot 206/106 for example.

Hi there. I have been in the auto industry for 8 years. I am not sure if you are in America or not, but here they are not sold anymore, only on used lots. They have mechanical issues and they do not hold their resale value at all. I would not reccomend buying one. I hope that helps a little. Ph, and if you want to check out their value you can go to:

ancient design based on an astra from 20 years ago, do yourself a favour and buy almost anything else

i wouldnt buy a deawoo. go for a renault clio campus. you can pick a brand new one up from 6k and they are really good!!
