Put bleach down the drain and leave it overnight before you use it again. You can get nice lemon cleaning creams from the supermarket that smell lovely once the sink has been scrubbed.

It will almost certainly be coming from the waste try a proprietary cleaner like Mr Muscle drain and waste or sink cleaner not sure which is the right variety otherwise get a funnel and pour a bottle of neat bleach down the waste and leave it over night.
It may blacken the waste if you do not use a funnel

Try a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser - there is something on the surface that is giving the tinny smell - the other cleaners are not taking it off.

I suggest you try powdered carbon or crushed charcoal which
is very effective to remove nasty smells quickly. Place some
of it to cover the s/s sink and drainer outlet. Let it soak with
some water for a while until the smell is no more.
Finally, wash the whole sink and drainer outlet with warm
soapy water and dry it with a kitchen towel.

use a multi purpose cleaner, de-greaser or bleach and scub well... also if there is a smell coming from the plug hole, make sure the U- pipes are installed the correct way ... mine wasn't when i moved into my new house and it smelt horrible where food and stuff would go down the plug and sit in the U-bend, but since turning it the correct way, the water now flows down the pipe the correct way instead of collecting and sitting in the pipes and producing a nasty smell!!

Pour a cupful of bicarbonate of soda down the drain, then pour about 1/2 litre of the cheapest white vineagar that you can find slowly - down the drain.
It will bubble up, and remove all fetid impurities.
In future, don't throw oil of grease down the sink.

I put some lemon scented sink daisies in the drain. They look like flowers and fit over the drains. I've seen them in strawberry and vanilla too. And keep using bleach.
