Yes I believe in destiny, but I also believe we create our destiny by the choices that we make each and every day. I don't believe that destiny is something that is preplanned no matter what we do.

You have to understand the difference between freewill and destiny. Every person has freewill. Destiny is anything that has already been determined. For example you can choose to become a vegetarian but if you brutaly murder someone and get caught it has already been decided that you will be punished. To say someone is destined to be great or evil is a lie. In fact if you read the story of the life of Bhuda it was said he would either be a great king or a great teacher of peace. It wasn't a destiny it was a choice. People have choices but certain events in life will push them into predetermined outcomes.

I think destiny means what was meant to be. I believe some things in my life happen for a reason. That's just how I feel.

For me this is a hard question....I guess I believe in destiny in the sense that we plan our life's lessons before we are born and I believe that we come back to this life to learn them and we pick and choose who will help us and we pick and choose the circumstances...However, I also believe we still have choices and they can take us off the path....Sorry if I didn't really answer you...this is truly a great question...I am going to have to think about it a little more....

We decide what we do and life throws as a wild card, that's destiny. It's there but not in the way people keep talking about

On the issue of "do I have a destiny" I find myself going back and forth on that issue - what I do know is that I don't know what it is so in real world it doesn't really matter what I think about this issue - I can't change it if it exists and I will never know what it is until after I complete it.

I am an absolute determinist meaning that you are not in control of your own actions, but rather external factors are your motivators. Now, if one assumes there is an omipotent god who is directing our every move via the natural world, then yes there is a knowable destiny - knowable to god alone.

How do you know there is no destiny? It is destiny when you meet someone special
