I knew a fellow once who borrowed "DANGER HIGH POWER LASER BEAM ! Wear eye-shield !" signs from work and pasted them on his exterior winders.
Sure kept 'em on their toes.
In my tract an old lady with a chihuahua had a fiery eyed bulldog-icon on her back gate for years, even after micro dog departed, to the merriment of every new meter man / lady.

I dont think that would be illegal. I know alot of people that have "Beware of Dog" signs up in their yard and they do not have a dog. They just have the sign up so no-one will mess around in their yard. No one has ever said anyone to them about it.

Yes it is fully legal to put a "Beware of Dog" sign on your yard even if you don't own a dog similarly as "beware of pickpockets" sign is there even when there are no pickpockets. By this way the occupier of the land limits his liability.

No, it's not illegal. And, I think it's a good idea. Everyone should be reminded to beware of dogs. It's like saying "don't run with scissors"

Why would someone run from a sign? If they do maybe they deserve to get hurrt, and no you cannot be sued. I have a sign that I shoot tresspassers, I haven't, yet. But it is nice to let folks know how far you will go to protect your property.

Non-sense. You can post a beware of Godzilla sign if you want. If anyone questioned it tell them he's in Tokyo on vacation...

People do it for security reason. I will tell you this, though, the mail man has every right to go on your property because the mail must be delivered.
