That would be nice. Since they say we shouldn't stick our noses into others business, old saying, pot/kettle/black.

How about should Americans such as yourself and others with your mindset stop thinking that you are the be all and end all of existance and perhaps follow your own advice? American politicians don't keep their "noses" out of other countries politics (Ever heard of this thing going on right now called the Iraq war? Oh and the Israel conflicts going on right now? Americans are in there and its not their politics) Perhaps if you concentrated on more things like what's going on in your own backyard like a phenomenal debt, the AIDS epedemic rising at an astounding rate (but then again with your way of thinking - you probably still think it's just a "gay" thing) and the fact it took over 5 days to respond to the New Orleans flooding you would have less time to harp on such a small detail. Canada is in North America too. Thank God I know that the majority of true Americans don't share your attitude.

Does America stay out of the affairs of others (nations or individuals) when it feels threatened? Look at the Iraq war; look at the war on citizens' liberties.
As for your question: It suggests you mean Canadian citizens, and not necessarily the government of Canada, so that's what I'll address.
What if you drop the nationalities from your query, and ask if people should mind their own affairs and stay out of the affairs of their neighbors? Wouldn't it have to depend on the issue(s)? Environmental and security concerns are common to both nations because they're geographically connected; I would go to the mat for those things. Animal abuse must also never, ever be tolerated; it is another issue that people worldwide must never avoid confronting. Same with child abuse, ethnic cleansing, and so on.
Politics absolutely is a driving force behind the management (or resolution) of those and other issues.
But in life, you pick your battles and try to make a difference where it matters most to you. Be selective; don't cast a wide net when it comes to emotional investment. Don't spread yourself thin or you'll risk a meaningless life.

Nothing wrong with the canadians except their unrealistic utopian view of the world, the only reason I would try to keep them out of world dialogue would be that they would most likely trust those who deserve no trust in the mistaken idea that if they simply talk to others they can solve all the worlds problems, they do not accept that some people cannot be reasoned with. That is their real flaw.

It doesn't bother me in the least. Only Americans can vote in US elections, so there's no need to worry about other countries running the show for us. Why should anyone be bothered by foreign opinions in US politics? We should encourage open communications between countries so we will understand each other's viewpoints better and learn to get along.

Yeah, I was in Montreal last year. All the things I've heard about--how we interfere in other's affairs etc. Then everyday I would read the newspaper, guess what? Our politics and news were their front page fodder.
Maybe if they reported on their own problems and politics then they wouldn't be so obsessed with ours.
And by the way, the locals were very nice to me and my kids. Not at all what I expected.

If America is going to portray itself as 'leader of the free world', then it shouldn't be too surprised when parts of that 'free world' give their opinions on America.
When was the last time America kept quiet about other countries?

Hey, lighten up, we share a Continent and they are our best friends on this side of the world, and if they start a draft to fight the war based on lies, I will need a place to go because I will not fight for George Bush. I do not trust him.
