NO!!! Never give your child a popular name with an invented or whacky spelling, they will hate you forever for it.

I know a girl called Penne (It's pronounced Penny) but she hates that it uses an unconvetional spelling, cos basically her name means a type of Italian pasta, whereas it wouldn't if it was spelled correctly...

Names such as Kylie or Ashley should NEVER EVER be spelled Kylee or Ashleighe or something ridiculous like that.

My cousin is called Haley, but this is not a conventional spelling...It's supposed to be Hayley. It is always annoying her that people write it down this way when she spells her name with only one 'y'. It also makes official documents void as official documents do occasionally get things wrong

If you want to give her a unique name, feel free but at least make sure it's spelled correctly. You could jump on the celebrity bandwagon and give her the name of an American state...but why would any woman want to be called Dakota or Florida or Massachusetts or Kentucky?

European City names are not a good choice either... Paris is a beautiful city, but I bet the Hilton Hotel in Paris has had a serious decline in patronnage since you know who did you know what.

However I personally think "Geneva" is an exception to this rule

If you want to give a unique baby name, try an old fashioned name like Maeve (pronounced Mave), I believe it's Welsh, though I could be wrong. Other nice old fashioned names include:

Sigrid
Charlotte
Siobhan (the Irish and original spelling of Chevaune and pronounced the same)
Sinead (pronounced shin-ADE, also Irish)
Audrey
Margaret
Adelaide
Prudence
Constance

Hope this helps
