It usually means that there are some works going on in your area.

If the water goes clear after a while run it till it does. If not let it settle and see if that does the trick. If not boil it for at least a minute (in a pot as opposed to a kettle) It should then be safe to drink.

Usually a high calcium content. The calcium later causes limescale.
Water in some parts of town is notoriously bad quality. If you're worried only drink filtered or bottled water.

It means that the piping is bad and you should not drink it !! Is it cloudy out of every tap ???

If it is only occasionally as clears up in the glass after a few seconds, then probably pressure, if it is permanent and stays cloudy, bad plumbing.

It just means that there is alot of air in the water. Wait a bit and it will settle. Nothing to worry about.

it all depends...is it white cloudy? or is it brown cloudy?..if its white cloudy...its air in the water..if its brown(or some shade of brown) then it's dirty water..don't drink it..call your water supplier and tell them whats happening,cos there might be a broken water pipe somewhere...ask them if and when its gonna be resolved,if its gonna be a while ask them if they can suppy you with bottles of water...good luck

could be air in the line let it run into a clear container and allow it to sit for some time then go back after at least half an hour and see if it clears.

That happened to me so I contacted the water board who said it was fine but then said they would pay me to buy bottled water for evrything in my house so I had free water forever, they kind of admitted liability but did'nt?

it means you are in a hard water area. worth filtering your water before drinking it. Buy a water filer somewhere like here:
