tea contains large concentrations of antioxidants, which improve many functions of your body including preventing cancer. many studies have shown this. the best teas are those that are not as processed, such as green tea which is not baked. but black or oolong teas also have a very high level of antioxidants. I drink several cups of green and black teas every day and I've been very healthy. my favorite is jasmine tea.. it's got a great flavor. the only problem (maybe for you not me) is the amt. of caffeine that you are going to ingest. a cup of green tea has about the same amt. of caffeine as a can of coke, black tea has a little more. but many of these kinds of tea also come in decaf. you can buy decaf green tea that has red grape skins in it too, for extra antioxidant power

Check out this website http://www.artcademy.biz it has an article about Green Tea and its benefits (think its under Natural Therapy Archive).
Just a quick run down ... Green Tea has lots of anti-oxidants (ECGC) and can help prevent cancer, lower blood sugar, lower cholesterol levels etc. It also help you lose weight ;)
An extract from the article :
"Researchers believe the real secret of green tea lies in the fact that it is rich in EGCG which is a powerful anti-oxidant. EGCG has been found to kill cancer cells without harming healthy tissue.
A University of Purdue study recently concluded that a compound in green tea actually inhibits the growth of cancer cells. "
So back to your question ... Health Advantages for drinking tea (green pref) ... Longer healthier life

It depends on the type of tea. Herbal teas are considered a replacement for 2 of your 8 per day minimum intake of water. Different herbal teas have different proposed remedies or effects as do black teas. Some teas have been used in cancer research for cancer prevention.

It's full of antioxidants which decrease the risk of cancer and other diseases. Green tea is better for this, but regular tea is good.
