I practice Vodou. When we sing and dance for the lwa, the lwa come. We ask the lwa for help and they help. In return we give them service. We give offerings of food and drink and acknowledgment.

Do I believe they can help...absolutely!!! I have asked for healing from the lwa and I received that. I have been given gifts without asking. I have asked for help to find a new job for me and my other half. It has happened. I have truly been blessed by the lwa.

The difference is the lwa are elevated spirits. They were made so by Bondye (God) because he is very distant from us. We do not invoke the lwa. We ask them to bless us with there presence. If they wish to come down they manifest through possession. Those being ridden are blessed even more by the lwa because they were chosen as the vessel for that specific lwa. We don't work with fallen angels, demons, or demi gods at all.
