He asked me if i had any pictures of my little boy, i said that i
did but i wasn't uploading them, he then called me lazy so i told him that i did not want to upload them in case he was a pervert, at which point he got offended. Was i wrong to say that?

As a mother, there is no way in hell I would give pictures of my little boy to a man I didn't know. You did the right thing. Who cares that he is offended. I also would block him from messenger if I was you.

How did you know he was in Pakistan?
How did you know he was a lad?
How did you know this or that.
It could have been an American pervert a few houses from you. You were right not to upload any pics for this person. Once you baby's pic is on the Internet you cannot control what happens to it.
For reasons of politeness, you should have just said you did not believe in loading your baby's pic into the Internet and left it there without elaborating.

If you said it in the manner in which you posted here... yes! However, your instinct is right. People post way too much information on-line... Personal information, pictures, etc. Perhaps you need to explain the situation from a responsible parent's point of view. Don't call someone a "pervert." Explain that there are a lot of child predators on the web and out of respect, love, and concern for the safety of your child, you do not post pictures of him.
It's that easy. If this person you are chatting with still says something negative... stop wasting your time talking with them.

Just explain to him that there's loads of perverts on the planet you don't mean him personally and if he can't take that maybe there's no point continuing to talk to him, because little things like that may become huge and it's a needless argument if you can understand the situation.
and he may just be curious, not everyone on the planet is a pervert and you shouldn't judge a person so harshly but they should respect your wishes.

You were perfectly right to do what you did and by far not in the wrong. Being careful is always Rule Number #1 on the Internet, especially where kids are concerned. If this guy couldn't accept that then he was a major **** and I promise you that no matter where in the world they come from and no matter what their beliefs are, a **** is a **** is a **** and should always be avoided :-)

I would be very concerned with anyone who you have not met asking intimate details about your life or asking to see pictures of your children. With the Internet, there is no guarantee that this person you are talking to is a young man, that he lives in Pakistan, or that he is not very dangerous. Be very careful with what you share with others over the Internet.

Internet contacts, especially chat contacts are light.
If someone wants to know personal stuff or gets insulting, or generally makes you feel uncomfortable. Delete the contact.
If they are really interested in your personally, then that's his worry. Don't be naive and protect yourself.

No you did the right thing. And "just_curious" protecting her son and not taking any chances does not make her a racist. he might have been innocent but it is not a risk to take.... would you yourself have put pictures of your daughter? No, so a son is no different and needs protection.
