I'll describe the pain to you so you know what to expect.

Imagine someone sticking a sharp piece of jagged glass into your skin. Then slowly and with some force, they drag it downwards and it feels like your skin is being ripped to shreds. And then after a while it starts to burn, and the skin feels like it is on fire!

And that's just while they are doing the outline!

When they are colouring it in, it doesn't hurt so much, it just feels like an annoying buzzing/stinging sensation which is more uncomfortable than painful.

Be sure you really want it before you get it done. A tattoo is for life.

It is really all about your pain threshold. Obviously everybody has a different pain threshold and feels it to different degrees. I have a friend who got one on her lower back and she cried so hard. I have my whole spine done and was really uncomfortable and it did hurt but not that much. I also had another friend who reckons the inside of the elbow is really pleasurable.
So you have to take that into consideration when you are thinking about how much it is going to hurt.
Carefully consider what you want done as it will be on you for life...the most painful part would be being stuck with something that you decided you hated a year or so down the line.

Pain depends on the individual and where you have it. I have 4 tattoos and I thought it felt like having a match held to my skin and just as it became unbearable it stopped. I don't regret any of the tattoos I have had done, but I did think long and hard about what I wanted and made sure it was something special to me. I also thought about how I might feel about it when I'm 60 etc

The location makes a big difference, I have one on the back of my neck and one on my lower back and the lower back one took 3 hours and hurt quiet a bit towards the outside, they are basically stabbing you on a small scale multiple times, it ends up feeling like a cigarette burn when being done, and similar to a sunburn for the few hours afterwards. However, it's not enough to make you cry or regret it. But don't get a brand tatooed on you.. would you want your body to still say it when you're 50?

it depends where yougetit? that is bull, they all hurt, but as soon as they stop, the pain is over. it is not a pain that makes you cry, more like a bee sting over and over again for an extended period of time. My first was on my ankle and down my foot, that hurt! Everyone said, of course that will hurt the most, you have no meat there, so the next one was on my chest right over my heart, and that one was worse, but all is tolerable if you really want it. Just think before you chose, it will be with you forever! Good Luck

convinced, getting a tattoo hurts. How sore it really is relies upon totally on the position you get it. even if that's not often so sore you won't be able to get it complete. i have were given a band round my top arm. The outer area of the arm is somewhat sore even if the interior, the position there's a lot less muscle and bigger smooth flesh, the tattooist had to press more beneficial sturdy so it damage more beneficial. My exwife has a sunlight and moon layout round her abdomen button. That, in accordance to her, change into the most painful ingredient she's had performed. smooth portion of the body, lot of stress. different places that damage. everywhere the position epidermis covers on the point of bone. So something on the shin is going to nip, case in aspect. feet are fairly smooth, especially on the only, or maybe as getting tats everywhere else will damage, tattooing on the feet will damage a lot. in case you desire something performed on your back, that's about the most proper position to do it in case you at the prompt are not prepared on soreness. it is going to nonetheless damage on the smooth bits, yet you've fewer nerve endings on your back than the different portion of your body so it hurts somewhat a lot less. And in case you do get a tattoo, do not do it with a hangover. My first one, i'd been eating until eventually 3 interior the morning on the evening earlier. Six hours sleep, probable nonetheless somewhat less than the impact of alcohol, sitting interior the tattooists chair getting whiter and whiter until eventually I had to bolt for the bathroom and boak. (Boak, a Scots note for throwing up) somewhat soreness feels worse once you've a hangover.... and do not get them everywhere you won't be able to conceal them, until eventually you opt to finally end up doing a guide interest. in case you desire something proffesional on your life (accountant, lawyer, stockbroker, that variety of ingredient) a tattoo should not be the most proper ingredient you opt to prepare at your interview. human beings make judgements on the variety of man or woman who receives tattoos. 9 circumstances out of ten that judgement is inaccurate, yet once you try to get a clean interest those are the variety of odds you do not desire.

Depends on where you get one. if its in a area with alot of meat not too bad. Over bone with little flesh hurts. But after about five minutes of tattooing you go numb.

Where you get it depends on the pain. Closest felling is a burning scratch. The deeper the flesh the less pain you have bone is the worse.

It depends where you get it done. I have one on my spine, like 5000 other people and it hurt quite a lot. I suggest you find something to take your mind off the pain like talking to someone whilst you are having it done.

It all depends on three things...
1. Your level of pain tolerance.
2. Where you get it done on your body, I got mine on my right shoulder blade... When you get one close to a bone, it smarts a little, but it doesnt really "hurt" per se....
3. Size and how colorful it is!!!
I dont like needles, and I have a very low tolerance for pain, and it didnt hurt me....
