Vanity.
They are ashamed that they are loosing their hair.
They want to look better/younger.
It's the same reason women wear makeup, dye our hair, get perms and waves put in our hair, etc...While most toupees look bad to many people, to the men wearing them, the toupee looks good. Just like a women thinks that she looks good when others see her wearing too much makeup, her clothing too tight, unnatural hair color, etc... Natural is usually the best look for people, but not everyone agrees.

Ashamed of their baldness. I'd rather see a bald head then a bad toupee anyday. Plus, most men actually don't look bad with a bald head. Bruce Willis doesn't look bad (at least not to me).

Dats is jst an accessorie 2 go with like u girls wear make up,hair clips,rubber bands,bracelets,necklaces,wait it will take my life 2 name all da accessories dat girls wear.So its as simple as dat.Its jst an accessorie.

For the same reasons some women wear "too much" makeup -- i.e. they think it makes them look better!

Because they didn't have the knowledge or motivation to go on Propecia (Finasteride) when their balding started.

Personally, i think its bc they feel insecure. and maybe having something that looks like something the cat coughed up on their heads helps.
