Don't put up a front, and pretend to be something that you really aren't.
For example (albeit an extreme one): I enjoy heavy metal music, and dress accordingly (black leather jacket, lots of piercings, etc)... I would not be my true self wearing a cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and a belt with a buckle shaped like Texas, and go line dancing... I'd only do that to appease someone else, but that's not me being my true self.

it can mean a lot of different things. I think of it as do what your heart tells you to, and don't do something just because your friends are. Some people look at is ex: If you like rap, listen to rap. Other people think of it as dont hurt your body (drugs, etc.)

It means know yourself and never do something you don't believe in, never try to project a false image about yourself, because you will feel a disagreeable contradiction between your acts and your thoughts.
