i am a single parent, and i refuse to get married jus so my baby can call someone daddy!

Why bother with getting married to a man who does not have the character to be a good husband and father. Baby does not need anyone to call daddy. Our society today is comprised of more single parents than those in a marital relationship.
A daddy, is not just a figure head --- they are an inspiration, a security, a teacher .... a daddy needs to be much more than just a donator of sperm. Having the ability to produce sperm does not mean a man will be a good father --- look at all the dead beat dad's out there .....

You just have not found the right person. It is not wise to get married just so the baby can call someone daddy. Baby will only have one daddy whether you get married or not. On the other hand you were not having sex with someone you were calling husband either. You don't have to follow the conventional ways of life.

can't your child call someone daddy even without the marriage... do only married people get to be called mummy or daddy???
marriage is up to the individuals concerned... and then there are the freaky god botherers out there stirring it all up!!!

Good for you. Take care of yourself and you child. If you ever decide to get married great - if not great. You don't have to do it for convenience or just because everyone else expects you to do it. You keep doing what's right for you!

you dont need to get married just so your kid has a dad. when the time is right you never no the man of your dreams might come along. dont get married just so your baby will have a dad.

That is a good way to look at it. But keep in mind love might or might not find you. Love might find you and you are not even looking for it. Seems like you have a good head on your shoulders.
