he's telling you politely that he thinks you are infringing on his space and privacy. You're being intrusive to his space and you need to back off. Give the dude what he needs....if you don't you will not be able to salvage anything that might be in this relationship.
This means ....no phone calls, no emails, no instant messages, no visits to the dudes house....GIVE HIM A MILE LONG SPACE to figure out what needs to be figured out. If the dude doesn't call after a week or so off silence....you should just keep up the silent give him space.......

It means he is not sure of things. Possiblely he is feeling attraction toward someone else. Would never want to say anything to hurt you. But be aware. Guys just don't need time and space, there is always a reason. They just don't have to caring feelings a women has.

It generally means that he wants some time alone, and space...from you. It means, don't call me, I will call you. It "might" mean that you are being dumped, depending on how mature the guy is. Someone who is genuine, and honest, means what they say, and doesn't expect you to read between lines.
