If I had to, yes.

I could probably make my own clothes, build my own home and churn my own butter too.

Modern society depends on division of labor. Everyone does what they do best, for themselves and for others.

Maybe you wanted the answer "oh no! boo hoo hoo I'll never eat meat again!" Sorry to disappoint. I eat meat and will continue to.

I don't think all abortions should be outlawed either, but I don't want to witness one, much less perform one.

No. Or rather, I don't think I could right now. A little training or desperate times could possibly change that.

This is actually a question I've been musing over for some time, as I was vegetarian for years but now eat a limited amount of meat again. (I genuinely dislike the taste of most meats, aside from pig-products or fish that isn't too "fishy" in its odour and flavour.) However, I have to admit I'm uncomfortable with the idea of eating animals that I would not be able and/or willing to hunt myself in an emergency situation. I wouldn't want to sit passively waiting to be provided for.

Having said that, I guess I could go out and source food for the herbivores in a situation like that?

I do hunt and fish. No big deal but don't ask me to kill a cow or a chicken. Leave that for the meat packing plants. LOL

Of course, if i was hungry enough, and i could not purchase my food. There are even cases of people eating each other in order to survive.

I suggest any one who totally denies they would kill animals in order to survive has never been seriously hungry. though i do accept an extremely small minority of people would starve before killing an animal.

Yeah.... l'm a professional farmer, hunter and well fishing.... I have my days... dont ask me about the one that got away haha!

I dont have a problem with eating something I have farmed... I did when I was younger because you sort of get attached to cows... but the meat tastes soooo much better than what you buy anywhere else!

Not unless i was desperate, in that case i would fish. I do eat meat but try to put the killing out of my mind.

Yes, I often do. The rabbit, hare, deer or bird not only tastes better than supermarket meat but gives one the primeval satisfaction of having provided for oneself in the most basic manner.

No. I'm not an outdoorswoman, even if I'm a former Girl Scout. I'm a vegetarian. Killing animals is cruel. I'm all for animal rights.

Thank you for this question!!!!
I am only willing to eat what I'm willing to kill. Such as, I am willing to kill a sheep or cow, but not a frog or lamb or baby cow (veal). I've had to defend myself to a veggie boyfriend, my family and even my now-husband. They thought I was strange to say this, but I now know that I'm not.

If my children were hungry I would kill my cats. And that's from a vegetarian of 20 years.
