I'm in my 40s too.
I do have my "favorite" posters - whether I agree or disagree with them. So I like to see more of their writings. Witty, compassionate, etc.
This is an interesting site - lots of thoughts and opinions from anywhere in the English-speaking world, all for the price of an internet connection!
I'm particularly impressed with young people who are interested in politics and the world around them. I know it's important at that age, but the question "does he/she like me" gets dull. But some of these folks are really sharp!

Yes. If more than once I come accross a reall good or an absolutely idiotic answer from the same profile i do check out the profile but not of every person whose questions I answer.

I have been known to on occasion, but not always. It all depends if I find the question, the picture or both interesting or not.
Sometimes I look for a clue as to the age or background of the person asking the question also. I find it may help to answer the question better, however I did not look at yours before answering.

Sometimes. Like if someone gave me a cool answer, and I want to thank them or ask a question, I'll go to their profile to see if I can email them. 25% I can. 50% they don't have an email contact address.

mostly when somebody has 100% the same or opposite opinion as me or to see if the person is a nerd and posts only rubbish. usually i don't check the profile.

Yes if it is someone who has given a really good answer or asked a good question. Other than that I dont bother.
