well i presume your only five years old .
the world was full of love and happiness, pixies and fairies. here and there would be dragons but valiant knights would joust with them in huge arenas . the angels and wizards and sorcerers and humans and dwarfs and elfs all lived happily and Santa Claus used to come to give presents daily while the Easter Bunny would come only on Sundays. all lived happily ever after till nine eleven.

I cannot believe the other answers on this thread! The world has been subjected to terrorism for years, bombs being laid not only by the muslim findamentalists in the run up to 9/11, and by this I mean years and years before 9/11, USS Cole, The Embassy bombings all over Africa etc etc, all part of a reign of terrorism from Al Queda.
The UK was subjected to years and years of terrorism from the IRA. To say things only now get shut down because of an unattended bag are obviously not of an age to remember this, I'm talking about life in the UK through the seventies and eighties. Have a look round all the railway stations for starters in the UK, why are there no bins? because of them being used as weapons, bags of explosives being placed inside the old style bins made for horrendous injuries and deaths. Bags being left unattended have always been treated wiht the greatest suspicions within the UK. What about all the other acts of voilence and terrorism, planes have been hijacked, embassies invaded, bombs placed at public memorial services. There have been various groups at work, IRA, Black September, ETA, just a few off the top of my head! I have grown up with the fear of terrorism as being part of daily life
What 9/11 did was to bring it to a head, to ahske many into the reality, of wondering just how far these groups will go. 9/11 was 5 years ago, but it wasn't the end, Madrid train boms followed and the London transport bombs too, it will never be over, it will be an ever increasing threat, just look at what was so closely averted just a few weeks ago, no doubt these idiots will ahve something welse being planned as we debate this on here......

Naive and somewhat ignorant in the idea that we would never be attacked at home. 9/11 made us more aware that we are vulnerable. I believe that 9/11 could have been avoided if we had dealt with the events prior to that day.

As for America, it was alot better place. There were alot of things going on in the world, but on 9/11/01 that all changed.

As any basic Google query will tell you, there was still a problem with "Global Terror". Wars were still fought. Certain people still thought there was a holy war or one of ideologies.
Israelis were still killing Muslims and Muslims were still killing non-Muslims, to be broad. 9/11 was just one event, no matter how big, in a series of events up to present day.

The 911 is an iconic vehicle in terms of engineering and design. It has had a strong influence in the way modern sports cars are designed, but before Porsche released it, it's difficult to say what the world was like.

basically like it is now, people forgetting we are at war... people back to politicis only, not America first. sad, really. There were plenty of attacks on Americans before 9/11, just not to that scale and I think it just opened our eyes. but some people's are closed again....

Many were blind to the idea of mass terrorism on American soil. I believe there wasn't as much patriotism displayed back then either, so there have been some good things which sprang from the disaster.
