Tchaikovsky's "The Nutcracker Suite" is from a ballet. I've got it right here. I play it when I want music, but I must say I tend to only think of it near Christmas. It is the story of a little girl, "Clara, who is given a nutcracker in the guise of a soldier for Christmas and supports him in his battle with the Mouse King. As a reward she is invited into the land of sweets and introduced to a panoply of candies and exotic flavors."
