He's a totally amazing actor, why do people forget who he is when Pirates stops being no 1 at the box office...
I mean, I don't even see him in celeb mags any more, what happened?

Johnny Depp has been popular since he was in Nightmare on Elm Street. It is just that he is not a publicity whore and only does publicity for the films he is in. The rest of the time he leaves the paparazzi to their incessant need to find out if Paris Hilton is wearing underwear or not and how many stretch marks Britney Spears has.

Because pirates where the rear films with Jonny Depp that appealed to all audiences.
Other fims he acted in like Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas, The Window and what not dont really appeal to the masses. Therefore there is not as much talk abot him.

He is one of my favourite actors. People want to see his onscreen chemistry with other stars like Keira, so it would seem that he gets more popular acting across better known female leads.
Plus he makes eyeliner look so good.
Better than that bleached face he had in Charlie's Chocolate Factory or even whiter face in Edward Scissors hands.
He acts well but Pirates is one of his better mediums for acting and displaying his talent.

It's simple - coz he isn't out there looking for attention like other less hot famous guys (running around the world with Lara Croft and couch jumping on Oprah...any of that ring bell?). He doesn't even live in America - he lives in France. Actually, it's cool that he doesn't bore us to death in the gossip mags - that mysterious thing is very sexy.

Jon doesn't like the whole hollywood thing. He has always said that. So the press don't really bother with him. Alot of celebs like being in the press they actually have their agents tell the press where they will show up and get pics of them. jon keeps to himself and his family. that's why I love him. It makes it alot more interesting to see him in his films. he is a great actor.

Do people forget who he is? I don't think they do. you don't see him in celeb mags because he is a very private person who, when he does not have a film to promote, prefers to keep himself to himself instead of swanning round at parties and getting his photo taken.

There have been otehr periods where he's been popular. He doesn't like being centre of attention so he does try & keep a low profile with the media

he lives in france i think.so therefore is not out in the open,yes i remember johnny depp, 21 jump street,edward scissor hands and my fave -whats eating gilbert grape, mind you i like dhim in charlie and the chocolate factory and in benny an joon, plus heaps more i really like him always have.he keeps his life private and hes not in the scandals so i guess that is why.GO JOHNNY DEPP!
