Ever hear of keeping up with the Jones's? Well that is the norm nowadays. people may be truly happy that someone else has it as long as they can get it too, what ever it is.

Perhaps sometime in our dim past this was to ensure the continuity of the race but now we really don't need it. Kids shooitng other kids for shoes. Friendships breaking up becasue so and so has a bigger boat. Marriages falling apart because one or the other makes more money.

Sad isn't it?

Not everyone is jealous of one another, it all depends on how you've been brought up.

Jealousy comes from comparison-if you keep comparing yourself to what other people have, then you are always going to be unhappy and bitter which is why a lot of people can't be happy for others.

This could've been my question, why didn't I think of that?
I also hate jealous ppl.
Like the girl I'm dating atm, she has got another boyfriend besides me but that's not the problem, he's fine with it (they've got an open relationship), but now I'm in contact with an old friend (a girl, who is lesbian) and my girl is soo jealous about the lesbian because I'm going out with her as well!!
Nah, don't like it when ppl are jealous..

Because people think about themselves before they think about others, people are naturally selfish not naturally giving, we have to learn to become generous people then we can feel happy for others and consequently feel happier on the whole.
Of course sometimes those who are more fortunate in a certain area can rub that advantage in someone's face and that provokes jealousy, e.g nice car, big house, well paying job.

See, if i answer it pratically so, it is nothing but a human nature , it is a human tendeny that people wants to see themselves above to others, but when the feeling of competition comes in, most of them along with the tendeny of becoming better than others ,also become jealous of other's success and happiness.

But I don't think, that ,this also applies to the person who is ur good friend or ur well wisher.

Everyone wants whats best for him, this is normal ,but when it turns to envy and willingness to hurt others inorder to be better than them then this is an evil nature and a serious problem.
