I have an image of this bank as untrustworthy bank .
I opened an Saving account with opening amount Of Rs. 5000/- after gathering my pocket money & Saving my miscellaneous Expenses. & after some months when I was in need of that Amount, I came to know this bank deducted my Rs.3000 / =more than half of my saved amount without intimating me. How ridiculous ! saving is not good @.
After that I call to customer care but all in vain : !

Saving is good habit. I wish all our children develop a habit of SAVINGS in a Bank. I had my first saving account with nationalised bank, when I was studying in class 7th and never had any problem.

New genration Banks like ICICI Bank, IDBI Bank, HDFC Bank who are better service provider are little costlier. They do provide certain services, which are being out sourced, for exemple to open a Savings Bank Account all you have to do is give them a telephone call, they visit you, and get the formalities compleated and the Account is opened with out your visiting a Bank. Where as to open a Savings Bank Account with SBI or any Nationalised Bank one has to visit a Bank branch and obtain a check list of documents required to open a Account, and than compleat the formalities, and than again visit a Bank branch to collect a 'Pass Book' and 'Ceque Book' etc. There charges are also coparatively lower.

In all, after experincing and weighing all the services they provide at your door step and their charges and CHANGE occuring in BANKING norms and system, I am of the opinion that 'STATE BANK OF INDIA' is the best bank. All what they need is to change the attitude of their staff, who are dealing with public, to be more service oriented. Belive me, they are also transforming like staff of other new genration banks.

With One bad experince you should not loss, your heart, at all. Cultivating a habit of saving, at early age will certainly pay you later, in life.

Wishing you HAPPY BANKING !! through out your life.

to sort out, your above refered problem please visit your Home Branch and meet the Branch Manager. He will be happy in sorting out your problem. Or you may contect Banking Ombudsman, of your area.

Wishing you all the BEST.

I myself had a on-line savings account with icici.I didn't have any money deducted but i closed it after a few months because of the incorrect info i was given. When i called the call centre i spoke 2at least 3 people who were all saying different things i finally managed 2 talk 2 a supervisor but he couldn't do what i wanted him 2 do which was 2 close my account. My partners friend had the same situation as you,my partner went with his friend 2 his local bank and found out that there were fees deducted because he had 2 have a minimum balance in the account ,my partners friend said he was never informed of this, but the info was in the small print on a leaflet, this information had not been xplained at the time when the account was opened. So you must b carefull when opening an account check any small print on leaflets take information home and discuss with ur family and don't feel pressured in2 opening an account with any bank.most importantly you must get an answer as 2 why the fees were deducted from ur account and how the fees were calculated and if the bank does not give u this information u can contact the banking ombudsman. i have included some web sites for you,in the second link there is a list of addresses.Hope this helps

Well. I cannot believe this. How the bank can deduct this huge amount just like that. To provide you some comfort, I would suggest you to take up the matter with Banking Ombudsman in the state where you are located and where your bank branch is located so that you can get justice, if you are right.

Also, dont come to any conclusions in life basing on just an accident or experience. There are many good branches in ICICI Bank and also there are many more good banks.

Savings should be a pursued with a passion as it would provide a way out at least to a certain extent when you are in need.

I have ICICI account from past 3 years which was opened by my company (corporate account) yes these people deduct amount if ur checks are not cleared or u dont mantain sufficient amount as per records (but as u havent taken any money out ) u have all rights to catch a senior branch manager and ask him to pay u whole amount (5000/-).As customer is king for any institution dont leave it so easily .Once a girl called me HDFC and she spoke badly to me as I was out of station and my monthly instalments couldnt go on given dates i reported them in head office and they took immediate actions and apolozised to me...so u can also get urr money back ...hope for best.

I am very sorry for you. What are the grounds on which they have deducted the sum of Rs. 3000 from your account. Most probably, they have done so on a flimsy ground.dont Give up.You can complain to RBI and Banking Division of MInistry of Finance. If required file a suit in consumer court.

savings are indeed a very good habit .

first of all did you maintain a minimum balance? if you have not maintained it your sure to lose money as they deduct charges for not maintaining a minimum balance.

if you have maintained the minimum balance amount then you can ENQUIRE in the bank the reasons for deducting the money.

go straight to the bank and ask them why was the amount deducted.

The BEST way is
1.ASK the bank Manager the statement and thritten him to go to court.
2. Tell him You are going to PASTE this issue in a PUBLIC NOTICE
3.TELL him You are going to refer it to RBI
4. Tell him you are going to fetch CUSTOMER rights group.
5.Tell him you are going to observe fasting.
