discriminatory towards other black people from Britain and the USA and why do they treat white people with more courtesy. This is not a myth it is a reality. I have seen several holiday reviews and even contacted a hotel in St Lucia about it and the Manager emailed me back and agreed that is happens.. also a friend of my mothers went to Barbados and was treated quite badly there by the hotel staff whilst white guests received better treatment....so what is that all about... ?

Cubalishis: I believe that Cuba and Jamaica are actually the exceptions to that rule... I am talking about the other Caribbean island like Barbados, Antigua, St Lucia, Trinidad, etc..

this tipping thing I don;t know aboutr and it certainly doesn't apply to me! Most Black people in England who visit the Caribbean don't really need to stay in hotels as they have family there so there is no reason to tip since they aren't in a hotel.. also they hire cars so there is no need to tip taxi drivers!!

Discrimination is everywhere. Just another belief in a myth that whites are better and richer then any other race. Next time you're visiting present that question to someone who's being showing that disrimination.

We were in Cuba this year and saw no evidence of anyone, no matter what their colour or creed been treated with any disrespect, a lot of the people in our hotel were French Canadians, a lot of them were black and they were lovely people and they were treated just the same as we were and I should think so too, its a downright disgrace to treat people different because of the colour of their skin, I too would have complained if I had seen people treat badly because of the colour of their skin.

Caribbean Islanders don't consider themselves black as African Americans do. They are a separate race if you will and as such identify more closely with whites.
