you need to be a bit more specific which bit are you referring to? There were two parts to the war , the European part ended in May 1945 , and the Pacific part ended in August 1945. The Germans unconditionally surrendered on Luneburg Heath and the Japaneses unconditionally surrendered on board the USS Missouri.

WW2 officially ended, I believe, when Japan surrendered to the US after the atom bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This mixed with the blow of Adolf Hitler's suicide was enough to officially cease the war.

i dont know the exact date. but the year was 1945. and it ended because the allies dropped atomic bombs on Japan. the germans surrended a few years back - does that help?
