Yes. They are still atheistic corrupt COMMIES, totalitarian in spirit but they tolerate their friends having private property.
George W. Bush likes them because his cronies are getting rich while American workers are getting poor and American factories rust away. And what does he care about human rights or the environment anyway?
But China is still COMMIE! There is nbo semblence of democracy whatsoever. Never forget Tienenman Square.
Only Taiwan is our real friend.

Government is still communist. They are changing the economy to more market but not the government. It is nothing democratic and you must still be a member of the party in order to have a good chance of doing well in life.
Media is severely restricted and the countryside has changed little. The government still tries to manipulate public opinion as you can see from the celebrations to commemorate Mao's death. Many people still do not know a lot of the truth about the government and what they did.

China is still claiming that theryre a communist government.
Technically communist kind of government shouldnt have any business establishments nor companies... They should only have establishments made by the government.
For now China is acting like a capitalist since the boom of thousands of outsourcing there.

What they do is not "imitate" democracy, but allow the economy to become capitalist under strict ideological control of the communist party and government. That is something quite different.
