The Disbelievers
9/11 Conspiracy Theorists Are Building Their Case Against the Government From Ground Zero
By Michael Powell
Washington Post Staff Writer

. . .
"It was a year before David Ray Griffin, an eminent liberal theologian and philosopher, began his stroll down the path of disbelief. He wondered why Bush listened to a child's story while the nation was attacked and how Osama bin Laden, America's Public Enemy No. 1, escaped in the mountains of Tora Bora.
He wondered why 110-story towers crashed and military jets failed to intercept even one airliner. He read the 9/11 Commission report with a swell of anger. Contradictions were ignored and no military or civilian official was reprimanded, much less cashiered.
. . .
"There was massive complicity in this attack by U.S. government operatives."

9/11 was perpetrated by an extreme and twisted or otherwise perverted form of islam not islam itself. i also think the united states is to blame for the fact that if the I.N.S alone had done their jobs they would have seen errors and incomplete visa applications which means the terrorists would not have been permitted in this country on that day. thus elliminating 9/11

Well, that depends on how you look at it. It was EXTREMISTS that did it. They've taken the Koran and twisted it, and now they think they have a right to kill as many people as they want.
I know Islam is a peaceful religion, or at least it's no more violent than Christianity. Yet some people who call themselves Christians bomb abortion clinics. Some people who call themselves Muslims hijack planes and fly them into tall buildings.
I guess they don't realize that the ends do NOT justify the means.
That Washington Post article is excellent. It's very balanced.
I was wondering when the conspiracy theories would be reported on. Maybe this means they'll be proven wrong.

I don't think that Islam itself caused it to happen. I think it was more to do with a select group of peoples interpretation of the religion and their own extremist views that resulted in what happened.
However, that said there are a lot of background and deeper issues with this; looking solely at the religion aspect won't give any clear answers. (Although getting any sort of clear or even decent answers will probably never happen thanks to the Bush Corporation; sorry Government).

9/11 was a tragic incident in which innocent people died but it was a drama directed by Bush and starred Ladin to Label every Muslim as terrorist for no reason and they succeeded. I think they deserve an Oscar for that but I hate them both.

Sorry mate, but 18 out of 20 of the nutcases that hijacked the planes were Islamic fundamental terrorists. Case closed. And where has it got them? Nowhere. International terrorism has no future. Thank God for George Bush and other clear-thinking politicians.

Are you an idiot? 9/11 was caused by people who believed in a religion supposedly based on Islam. A true Islam believer would never intentionally kill another human.

hummm, nice one, rather strangly this situation is rather accuralty described in Revelation 18. Watch out the next one is all the armies of the world will be wiped out (Revelation 19), i dont think it will be nuclear as all the bodies will remain for the birds to eat.
Remember Revelation 18 was so accurate in its description in that it will never be rebuilt and not one stone left (no fax machines, no phones where found let alone concrete).

I think U can not deny that there is terrorism in the mentality of middle eastern people. There're definetely people out there who'd blow themselves up. I can not imagine how they can do that.
