Because it's made-up of the following components, all of which are invisible, colourless and odourless, until they become polluted. (Notice how much 'fresher' the air smells in the countryside than in the towns and cities). Nitrogen, Oxygen, Argon, Carbon Dioxide, Neon, Helium, Methane, Krypton, Hydrogen and Xenon

It's not invisible, the atmosphere of Earth is visible from space. And as for colourless and odorless, maybe because we are born in air and surrounded by it all our lives we have no perception of it, but we sure as hell notice in a hurry if it's not there anymore, or if what we're breathing isn't air. Air actually refracts the light of the sun and allows blue which has a shorter wavelength, to bounce around more freely, hence the blue of our sky.

we can not see air ---however we can see the pollutant particles that attach together in the air... or we can see the condensation moisture that attach to each other in the sky... or we can see the light of the sun and the colors of the light prism as it hits these particles in the sky. I am not an expert but think these answers are somewhat on the right track.

You asked, "Why can we see air?" Then you asked why it is INVISIBLE... Supposedly, we can't see something that is invisible, but when we "see" air, it's pollutants and dust. You should see Los Angeles, California!

you mean that why can't we see air? right
because it doesn't reflect light..
instead it transmitts light
same you can compare with a black hole
which is also invisible..
