I know you can make glue with just flour water and sugar, but I would like actual measurements and directions.

Gee thanks max your answer was really helpful. You say that you are smart but you can barely spell and your grammar is terrible. Why do people even bother responding questions on here if they don't answer them? For points? I can't see why, having more points doesn't make you any more priviliged. Get a life max, I can see why she won't have kids with you, she doesn't want to spread recessive genes any further than they have been, yeah yours.

To max, I have thought about your answer some more and decided what I said was a little bit harsh. I still don't like your answer but that wasn't a reason to attack you personally.

Homemade Glue For Paper Mache

Ring a kindergarten or pre school, they make paste out of flour and water and some other things. It is called paper mache'.
I knew what it was in 1966 or '67 but I forgot sorry. Who would have thought I would have needed to remember that 40 years later? Good luck Johnno

I always used wallpaper paste. No, don't use a hair dryer it will make the air expand in the balloon and stretch the form of the paper mache. Make sure you are overlapping vertically as well as horizontally this should eliminate the balloon showing through. 4 layers should be plenty. Let it dry overnight in a warm dry room. Do not apply direct heat. Maybe leave the light on over the table it is sitting on (not too close). This will warm the air around it slightly.

Another method is with just water and flour. There are no exact measurements coz it depends on how much glue you need. I would say add about 1,5 cups water to 0,5 cups flour and mix until it forms a thick paste. make more if needed. Then just cover the newpaper strips in the glue and apply to balloon. Good luck and have fun.

you will need salt not sugar.... and lots of water and some flour... salt is a preservative... stops the gloop going mouldy... the mix needs to be very wet.... it really is a matter of add a bit and a bit more....

start with 1/4 cup plan flour and a tablespoon of salt with 1cup of water.... and work from there...

the best glue to use that can be bought is wallpaper glue...

but watered down PVA will do the trick too
