URL - Uniform resource locator.
Technical name for a website address.

http://www.yahoo.com is a url.
http://yoursite.net/files/page.html is also a url.

URL means Universal Resource Locator. Its not exactly ur email address...but more of ur email website. Every website is known as URL. It basically means identifying the resource over the internet and finding where it is(i.e. the address). There's nothing much technical about URL. u just have to know what it stands for and how the internet interprets it.

URL-uniform resource locator
if you dont have this you would be in a situation wherein you will have to goto websites using its IP and port number...it will be of the type 12.555.444.1 etc...imagine remembering this for n number of websites available on earth.... :O...your email address is similar to your home address on earth to deliver the mails written to you....for email address you need to create it in the websites which offer them like yahoo.com, gmail.com etc....for URL you need to do it either for free in free webhosting sites or create a paid one ...here you can use it for your business or for your personal profile or any fun websites n stuff!! You generally dont need to know the techs abt it...but you can learn it if you're very much interested in it!!
