Honestly, it really depends on what you want to do in life. Some people are just more successful than others, and have better opportunities than others. But some things do require further education (not necessarily college) to do.
Different degrees and an education taken farther gives you more money in whatever occupation you decide to pursue, some people say. I hear teachers telling me that they went back and got this degree so they could get paid more money and all that.
But all college really is is extending your knowledge even further. You learn about the things you need to, in order to get to where you want to be in life. Sure, it doesn't mean you're gonna get THE job you want, but at least it'll help you to get the requirements you need to get there.

It's important if you have a real, specific career you're seeking or to show some credentials in the job world, but it's not important on it's own merit, or for any other reason.
Most of them are pretty scummy, liberal-infested environments that are of a Socialist mindset.
There are a lot of successful people who never went, and a lot of people who have gone who are failures.
It's entirely possible to start succeeding right away in life without going, if you're diligent and play your cards right, so to speak. Ultimately, you should strive to start a small business of your own that either doesn't require a lot of start-up capital, or perhaps you can come up with a great idea and plan, then get investors.
I wish you success.

Unfortunately it's because the world has equated a college education with intelligence. In reality though some of the dumbest people I've met have college degrees. Then on the other hand some of the most successful people do not have a college degree. They may have had to work harder to prove themselves but it's just one of those things.

I think college has its importance as other "strategies" offered by the system. We, people are deemed to comply to it. College can be important in many ways:
1) It trains young people as they are going to be our future actors later on
2) The indiviudal can get a job later. Additionally, sociologically speaking, the State will be slightly relieved by the unemployment rate.
3) Going to college forms part of the "secondary socilisation process"
4) Experts use say that the system encourages people to study to discard them from the workplace as there are too many unemployed people
5) Going to college is important also to "form" individuals, hence "creating" educated people and therefore "shaping" a "healthy" population ideal for development. Education is primordial...

we need college degree so as to give us some armour when we apply for a good job. in college, we are taught of the things that we are going to do when we work. , some see it as not important, but later on when they start working, they will realize it's worth.

So that you don't subject people in your chosen field to the process of trial and error as a substitute for learning your profession properly. Not to mention the accompanying liability issues!
