It doesn't want to connect to the other computers as in... you can't even see or get to the other computers on the network?

or

You can see the other computers on the network, but you just can't connect to any of the folders?


If your problem is the first one, then you probably just need to change the workgroup that you have the reformatted computer set to.

Right-click on "My Computer" and choose properties

Click on the "computer name" tab.

click on the "change" button and it brings up a new box. At the bottom of that box that popped up you will see "workgroup:"

Go into that and change the name of the workgroup to the same thing all the other computers have.

You can check and see what the other computers are set on by using this exact same method on each computer.

In the past the defaulf for Windows was "workgroup", but I think it defaults to "mshome" now... that could be the problem.
