I prefer using Norton Internet Security with Parental Control. You can restrict the sites...

go to internet options, there a thing on content there where you can set the content you want to be blocked, not sure which tab exactlly bc i dont use windows anymore, but its in internet options for sure, you can set a password for it and stuff as well so that your son cant reset those settings

If you dont want to install expensive software make your sona "New User" via the "Control Panel", password protect your name. In your sons desktop go to "internet options" and click the relevant boxes. You can add a password here so if he is on a site you don't mind him seeing you can allow it just make sure he doesn't know your password.

There are programs that limit access, BUT the best is to TEACH him about making good choices. Also keep the computer in a public area in the home where you can look over his shoulder and make sure he is doing what you taught him ..making good choices on the sites he visits..

Internet security programs are the safest ones, try symantec for one then mcafee.

I'm sure there's a parental control option on AOL, but not sure how it works. Mihgt be worth looking into though.

let your son use the internet while you sit next to him. he'll get bored & he won't use the internet anymore.
