My computer has been having issues lately, when its doing something (downlaoding, playing a dvd, etc) It clears the screen, and blue screen comes up with white letters and then restarts my computer. When it gets back on there is an error message for a report to windows saying something about a serious error, in the tech data of it, it says something about local files or something, if there is anything I can do to fix this problem I would really appre ciate the help. thanks

well first off there can be a hole lotta reasons for this kinda behavior.it could be hard ware as well as software.
the blue screen is a damage preventing procedure used by windows.try n read carefully what it says the next time it happens.
reinstall all hardware "drivers" n if still there's a problem open up the cabinet n refix all BUS connectors n the RAM chip.
If that too doesn't help reintall ur widows.
if none of this made sense to u mail me.and also it would be better that u don't try n fix it on ur own if ur new to comps try n get a professional.
bye

Back up your important data and documents.
Reformat your hard drive.
Reinstall windows from a fresh full install.
What your experiencing is the crappyness of Microsoft Windows. Basically every 6 months or so it gets so bogged down and loaded full of crap you have to start fresh.
After years of repairing PCs i just jumped to a Mac its much nicer and a lot less work.

I agree..back up data and reformat and re-install windows. You could also restore back to an earlier time if you don't want to destroy your data but you will have to reinstall some of your programs..
