Cut the ivy stems as low down to the wall as you can manage. Paint concentrated ivy-killing herbicide onto the exposed cut parts of the ivy that connect to the root system and to any visible roots.
You may have to do this several times a year, and possibly have to experiment with different herbicides before you finally kill the entire ivy plant.

Just keep cutting the main stems and it will eventually die off
