compaq n600 c PIII?

I am using compaq n600c PIII 1Mhz lap top , suddenly it monitor goes off, i checked external monitor out and there is no signal in that port, so how i find that fault

Most probably your monitor goes to standby mode after a certain period of time. Check the monitor properties and power off settings in the Properties on the desktop. If the monitor is set for a time like 5 minutes or 10 minutes, set it to 'never' and see if it goes off. Most likely it won't. Otherwise, show it to your hardware person.
