Barney or the Wiggles or what ever small children are watching these days. There are a LOT of rugrats around, just because they aren't old enough to buy CD's doesn't mean that they don't have a voice. (It may be a bit off-key, but they're just little tykes...)
I WISH it was someone with talent that isn't being played on top-40 radio stations. Much of top-40 formatted music sucks. I'd like to see someone original with interesting music and great lyrics. How about Paul Westerberg? I'd love it if he were the most popular singer in the USA. But it's just a dream...

Well, right now Bob Dylan is #1 in the album chart, so I guess that right now he is the most popular singer in the US right now.
He has been very popular since the early 1960s, so you would have to say that Bob Dylan is the most popular singer in the US right now.
