tonights game is over (whew!!) Anyone else think that maybe, just maybe
JD will seriously and finally be in the running for AL MVP? I mean we (WHITE SOX) had to win the world series to get recognition in our OWN town as a "real" team but it seems that this year we, as a team, are not being considered as any kind of a "contender" much less any of our players getting their due for their accopmlishments!!! Not only does JD (thats Jermaine Dye) deserve the MVP but its about time Joe Crede gets the Gold Glove for 3rd base.!!! Why hasnt he you ask? Because we dont have a payroll thats ridiculious and a higher population that can vote in all stars in that dont belong (you know what i mean)? The professionals" that do vote who gets the gold gloves need to go back and truly look at each players whole seaon and their ability to go out and play day after day and make those great defensive plays quietly and with class. If that doesnt describe Joe Crede nothing does.

I think Dye certainly is an MVP candidte, as a matter of fact, I think most publications believe so as well.
The reason I think the White Sox are not getting the "respect" or publicity you speak of, is because the Tigers are this years "White Sox".
As far as Crede winning the Gold Glove, mmmmmm, don't know. I am a Red Sox fan and try my best not to be a biased observer, but I honestly believe Lowell deserves that award. However in the end, A-Rod will probably win that award... 25 errors at third base probably cuts anyone else out of contention except the precious A-Rod.... what a joke!!!!!

Ok, so I am a fan of the other Chicago team, but I follow the Sox closely and I am man enough to admit your team is better and more dedicated to winning.

This year is a little different than last because of all of the competition (especially in the Cental). I'm sure you know the Sox may not make the playoffs, but they most definitely ARE considered a contender.

I don't know what you have heard, but everything I have seen has either Jeter or JD winning the MVP. If the Sox don't make the playoffs, I think it will go to Jeter. Deserved? Maybe not....but the MVP usually goes to the player who leads his team and gets them to the playoffs. I don't think that JD is considered the leader of his own team in the media. He is quiet and just gets the job done.

Sorry, but your argument about "not having a higher population that can vote in all-stars" does not make any sense. I seem to remember last year, fans voting in Podsednik, and this year AJ. AJ got voted in over Hafner. Have you seen Hafner's stats? And he didn't get in the All-Star game through a fan ballot? That is lack of respect.

The Yankees and Red Sox will always dominate the headlines because the media loves them, they have loud GM's and sportscasters, and that's what people want to watch in the biggest media markets. It isn't right, but it is the way it is, unfortunately.

A Gold Glove to Crede huh? I think that you have been listening too much to the looney antics of Hawk Harrelson. Who knows, though....I have seen odder things happen.

Good Luck.

Brandon Inge deserves the gold glove at 3rd more than whathisname.

The reason the white sox dont get any recognition is because they are too busy crying about The Cubs.

Maybe, just maybe, if the white sox quit crying all the time, you might be recognized as a legitimate MLB team.
