We're glad WE weren't aborted. What do YOU think about that?

I think abortion is wrong. That doesn't mean that I think it should be illegal.

Most people seem to want abortion to be banned because of religious beliefs. This, in my opinion, is ignorant to no end. Not everyone shares the same beliefs, and if you believe it is wrong then don't get one, no one is forcing you to.

However, people need to be smart and using condoms / birth control. Abortion should NOT be considered a contraceptive.

Also, there should be a time limit placed on abortions. If you don't want to have a child, you shouldn't make that decision eight and a half months into your pregnancy. In my opinion, anything after the first trimester (or maybe even prior) should be illegal.

There are also other factors to consider. What if you've been raped? If you're in poverty and you don't have the resources to care for a child?

Also, if abortion is made illegal it won't stop abortions from happening. Remember the times when women would use bicycle spokes and straightened hangers? It will happen again, and diseases like AIDS will run rampant.

Although my spiritual beliefs have no bearing on whether abortion should be legalized or not, I don't believe that an embryo is a human being. People should be more concerned with the innocent human beings dying in the middle-east right now.

Abortion is something I personally would not choose. I think that there are occasions where abortion has become an easy way out of a stupid mistake, ie, someone could not be bothered to reach for some contraception and paid the price.
On the other end of the spectrum there are cases of severely ill children who have been born to suffer a short life of physical agony, and where they are concerned I think that there is a possibility that abortion could be the most humane answer.
I guess its the same as with the moral/ethical debate regarding euthanasia, does anyone, including the one concerned have the right to hasten a persons demise?
Its not a yes or no answer to your question, in my opinion. I think that some people, in some circumstances may feel that it is better for all concerned for an abortion to go ahead. Other people in the same circumstances might be horrified.
Each individual scenario should be weighed on the outcome of both options. For example, if a child was the product of rape, would they wish to be born into a family situation where the mother could appear to hate them - for what the child symbolizes? The pain and suffering that they could have to live through could make them wish they were dead already.
Its a tough call, and my answer will stay at maybe.

Everyone has there own opinion on this subject but i am not judging. I dont beleive Abortions are right or wrong, i beleive parents make that decision purely based on whats going on in there life right now. Its not fair to kill a life but is it fair to bring a life into a terrible home? There are heaps of reasons why people do and dont do this, but as far as im concerned, each to there own and we have no right to judge. It's easy for you to say, no thats so wrong but what if you were put in that position of not having a home or money for your baby? what would be better then?

It is wrong to kill another human being. Thats what it is, the pro abortion crowd can spin all day and say its pro choice. They call the baby a fetus to lesson the pain.
Abortions can be good financial and personal decisions for many people. But that does not make it right.
If people practiced birth control, it would help a lot. But many people aren't on the ball. And the Catholic church needs to change their policy here and stop being unrealistic sticklers.

completely wrong if you dont want a baby then use protection or keep your legs closed as for the victims that get raped and get pregnant maybe they have a right to get one I still feel that it is wong to kill a baby it would be better if they gave it up for adoption but at the same time no one can blame those victims if they dont I mean even though its not the babys fault that it was born by rape but I still think it is totally wrong cuz its not the babys fault in any case

Absolutely RIGHT in ALL cases. Kids are born to women who don't have abortions every day. Those kids are often abused, neglected, hated, and have a horrible life. They do NOT get adopted even when placed for adoption. I think abortion is ALWAYS a good choice. Better not to live than to live a life of nothing but pain whether it be physical, emotional, or both.

We shouldn't make that decision but at the same time no one should make that decision for us. Is it right to be a thirteen year old who is raped and ends up with aids to let a child be born with aids? Is the child going to live a horrible life? Will they be born with a disabling and painful disease like the butterfly children whose skin rips like wet tissue when you touch them? They rarely make it to 30. Or people who are in 3rd world countries and cannot take care of children. They starve to death at 2.

Is it right to end a life before it starts or let it be cut short due to the fact that the world is not fair?

well, they are wrong if the unborn child is not more than one month old. but if it begins to develop it is wrong because it's as if the child has been born and you have killed a human being with your own hands. it has life and the right to live. but sometimes the mothers do not have any other choice. the mothers who are unable to take care of their children for many reasons. but they who know their living condition must be careful not to conceive.

it is an individuals right to make their own decision.

If you are against abortions,... don't have one.

Are YOU prepared to take in an unwanted, sick, or deformed baby?
Will YOU take over for a child born thru rape or incest?

If not, then mind your own business and concentrate on something more constructive.

Someone having an abortion is none of your business.
If you believe it is a sin, that's your problem, not theirs.

Long story short...
mind your own business.
period.
