not sure what ahs is...but DVR's are GREAT!!! it lets you spend less time watching the comercials and more time watching actual tv shows! and also if you have to be at a certain event and can't watch something...you can always let little DVR record it

Like they say : you dont wait for programs they wait for you
you start watching more actual TV with your preference to watch the reorded programs, skipping ads
Bad things *which is the idea* about DVR especially TIVO
You stop watching live programs and just watch recorded ones. Tivo is intelligent enough and watches what you;re watching and when free (not recording your scheduled programs) tries to find you which matches your interests and recomends you by reording them.
You do get glued to TV more but get more value out of it.
Just waiting for TIVO to get me a HIGHDEF (non-direct TV) DVR some day - hope that day will come in my lifetime (I am not that old)

I've used various DVRs for about 5 years now and I cannot imagine living without. I would rather not watch TV than watch live TV.

I own one... I like the idea to pause tv.. I like the idea of not having tapes to record tv... but that's it.. I was told that they are only good for a few years anyway. I just got mines a year ago..

Yeah, I love it actually...I don't have to waste my time watching shows that I don't want to, plus I never miss my favorite shows! It is completely worth the $$ and reccomend it highly!
