The Siboney were an Indian tribe on Cuba when the Spaniards came.
War and enslavement by the Spanish, plus European diseases against which they had no resistance, killed all of them off in just a few decades.

where DOES your inability to spell come from?

There is a town in Cuba called Siboney, named after a local tribe of original inhabitants. The town was the site of American landings during the Spanish-American War (1898)

Two US Navy ships have been named USS Siboney:-

The first Siboney was the civilian ship originally named Oriente and used in World War I as a troopship and returned to the New York and Cuba Mail Steamship Company after the war.

The second Siboney was an escort aircraft carrier in service from 1945 to 1956.
