Please let me know which songs you think would be good to use and why, and where we can find the lyrics-- We need a song that represents growing up with hidden gifts, overcoming obstacles and hardships, and eventually finding love and a good life. This will be a slideshow of growing-up photos of the bride, for a wedding. She is in her thirties.

Never Say by Fisher:
Don't fly into the sun
your wings will melt and you'll come down
I say you never know until you try
away I go to the sun
I'm waving to the ground
I'll see you later

I will go - I will try
anything one time and I
never say never - why should I?
I will try - and I will go
anywhere - never say
Never say never ask why

Who knows tomorrow may never come

I can't conceive the day
I fear the unknown - not me
I dream of open windows

And if you never fly your wings are useless

I will go - I will try
anything one time and I
never say never - why should I?
I will fly - and I will go
anywhere - never say
Never say never ask why

Who knows tomorrow may never come

Only Human by Kelly's Lot

Try listening to a few Natalie Merchant/10,000 Maniacs songs, or reading the lyrics. Many of these songs would be suitable, I think.

The song "These Are the Days" by Merchant's 10,000 Maniacs is used at high school graduations all over the country, but the singer herself is actually in her 40s.

Good Luck!

Martina Mcbride's This One's For The Girls

Martina McBride's

This One's For The Girls
______________________________
This is for all you girls about thirteen
High school can be so rough, can be so mean
Hold onto, onto your innocense
Stand your ground when everybody's giving in

This one's for the girls

This is for all you girls about twenty-five
In little apartments just trying to get by
Living on, on dreams and Spaghetti-Os
Wondering where your life is gonna go

(Chorus:)
This one's for the girls
Who've ever had a broken heart
Who've wished upon a shooting star
You're beautiful the way you are
This one's for the girls
Who love without holding back
Who dream with everything they have
All around the world
This one's for the girls

This is for all you girls about forty-two
Tossing pennies into the fountain of youth
Every laugh, laugh line on your face
Made you who you are today

(Chorus)

Yeah we're all the same inside
From one to ninety-nine

(Chorus)
