The clutch isn't spring loaded, it should just slide into place, if everything is in line, unless you have a burr on the end of the input shaft, or in the pilot bearing. You can also put a little lithium grease on the input shaft splines. As I explained in my last answer you can try to start two bolts on either side and just alternate a turn each and see if the dowels slide into place, but if you feel the bolts getting hard to turn and you still have a ways to go before they are flush, there is still something out of line. Also make sure that there isn't anything in between the block and bellhousing on the top side, such as wiring, vacuum tubing, shields, etc. keeping it from coming together.

It cant be the springs because the springs are on the clutch disc itself they do sell a plastic tool that is made to allign clutches if you did that double check the release bearing fork make sure you have the release bearing on the right side of the fork if it isnt this could be why you cant get the trans to sit right on the daul pins on the block.

If you can get the trans in this far you just have to line up the input shaft with the pilot bearing/bushing. Don't try to draw it in with bolts as this will damage to pilot bearing/bushing and you will have to start all over. Also I would not recommend pushing in the clutch as it's a hydraulic system and you may blow the release bearing.

No, Yugie29 is right.

If you got it all the way up to the pins then there is something caught in between the block and bellhousing, like maybe that little bracket that holds the wiring harness in the way.

or it might just be dirt in the holes, got a lil screwdriver? or a flashlight. Surely you don't have the slave cylinder connected yet, heh that'd be funny.

First did you pu in the disk correctly. Is the flange twords the flywheel or the pressure plate?
Did you use a piolet shaft to aline the cluch dish with the flywheel?
If all is ok, hols the trans and while pushing it together, have someone push in the cluch This should aline it with tne trans.

Hope this helps
