yes I have noticed a lot more than usual. I read in several garden magazines that is is because of the wet winter. (California) I have webs all over my front and back porch. And spiders of different sizes and colors. Very pretty if you don't mind webs all over. The animals come home from their walks covered in the webs of different types.

there are always alot of spiders around..did u know that if u go out after dark with a flashlight and lay onthe ground tnh shine your flashlight across the grass you'll see lots of little emerald lights and that is the eyes of spiders...imagine how many u r laying on..

I read somewhere that there are at least 2 spiders within 8ft of you at any time

I thnk more insects in general than normal, yes.
