Suicide is the option that occurs when the pain (emotional/physical/both) becomes too much to bear, outweighing the resources you have for coping with pain. The balance shifts down in favour of ´ending it all´.
Suicide is rarely about wanting to die, more about wanting the pain to stop.
In view of my points I believe there are pros and cons to suicide, from the view of both the victim and the survivors.
- You know that the pain is going to end for yourself, BUT you also know that others will feel pain as a result of your actions.
- The horrible moment when you realise you cannot undo what you have begun, which means you are facing your imminent demise, OR the pain at realising it failed and now you are stuck with the horrible situation of facing your family after trying to leave them forever.
- You will miss out on all those wonderful things that you could have seen, been a part of, etc.
- Sometimes the answer to your problems is right around the corner....
- To seek relief from pain, that may be the intention. Relief is a feeling, you have to be alive to feel it.
- To forever be remembered as ´the one that killed themself?´ This one is a pro and a con, depending on your view.
There are a billion and one reasons for each side of the fence you sit on. The only problem with suicide is that it doesn´t give you the time to see if things could have been better. The pro of not attempting suicide right now would be that it gives you an extension of your time, and maybe thats enough to show you that things can get better.

It disturbs me that you are asking this question. Could it be that you are considering suicide yourself? Whatever the problem is in a persons life that makes them think of killing themselves it is important to remember that the problem is temporary--given time the problem that seems so huge and insurmountable now will become a memory in the future if you just stick around. If you are a mom you must remember that if you commit suicide that is a legacy that you will leave your children. They will have been taught that suicide is a solution. Their is a saying and a darn good one at that--keep it in mind. "SUICIDE IS A PERMANENT SOLUTION TO A TEMPORARY PROBLEM"
One thing you might do is get paper, pencil, and sit down. Divide your paper into two columns and make one heading why I want to live and the other why I want to die. Sometimes when you are very honest and write such a list you can see that there are always more reasons to live--it is true. Suicide is an easy way out, but there is no way back and I know that there are people that love you and need you to stay alive. Try to talk to someone that loves you or even a stranger--talk about how you feel--just stay alive--that is the only way things will get better and they will get better if you just stick around. It may take awhile but it will--I promise!

There are no pros and many cons.
Too permanent of a solution for a temporary set of problems.
It is selfish and causes way too much pain for the ones left behind.
Many many more cons. Can't think of one good pro argument except that it's an easy way out of facing your problems.

Pros:
I guess the pros would be that you don't have to live your life anymore due to your problems (which could be solved over time)
Cons:
You will never get to breathe again and see if your life would have changed eventually
Going to hell for sure!!

The word 'suicide' is pretty self explanatory in the pros and cons. It means you're dead.

the cons are (a) that you suffer afterwards on the Other Side; (b) that you then have to come back here and "re-sit" Life's "test" that you've just failed; and (c) that it causes suffering to others -- however lonely and desperate you feel, there is always someone who will miss you.
there are no "pros" ..... unless you are talking about suicide as a legal method of euthanasia.

The pro is, if you are successful, you'll have done at least that right in your life.
The con is the hurt of all the people whose lives you have touched, in even the slightest way, the briefest of moments. That hurt, which you wouldn't know or feel, would kill those inside.

the pro would be that you would be a selfish person and it would be all over for you. the con would be that you left a lot of broken-hearted people to pick up the pieces.

Life is but a delicate thing. It's quite easy to crush it in your hands, but it is really worth living.
Suicide is the easy way out of things. It's quick and painful to those around you, and it simply says that "I'm a wimp"
If you commit suicide, you're just insulting yourself and insulting those around you.
Each person has his or her role in this world, and you are there, destined to fulfill your own role in this existance.
Your life may not be the best, but many people are so much unfortunate than you are. If you are considering to commit suicide, please. Don't do it. Your life is very important to everyone around you, and your role will remain unfulfilled, hurting everyone else in the process.
