Granted, i wouldn't want my kid doing drugs...but just think how boring this world would be without drugs, and how dry our history would be. There would have been no hippies, no bands like The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Pink Floyd...and SOOOO many more...pretty much all the good bands of that era...and this era. We wouldn't have half the good music and art we have today without drugs. Am i totally off base here?

maybe i'm wrong...i thought everyone would agree w/ me...it seems like almost everyone in my town does drugs...

I agree with you in a way because most remembered artists/musicians in history have a troubled life so I guess in a twisted way drugs do help artists think outside the box and more creatively... You're not "totally off base", but I don't think "half the good music" that came out were because of the fact that the artists were on drugs... that's all. But as you even admitted yourself, drugs are bad for your health and for thinking clearly and logically.

It is quite possible to have great music without drugs.
Drugs lead to petty crimes, petty crimes lead to more serious ones and people start to die, children get hurt or killed...there is no good that comes from them.
No hippies...ah the world with no hippies...doesn't seem like a bad thing to me,

ok then, i hang around people who have never done and never will do drugs, and my life is never boring. drugs take away from the experience of life, something we only get so much of. there is plenty of music that has come w/o the help of drugs, and even those that were influenced by narcotics, these people were songwriters and musicians...who know's wat they would have done or gone on to do...wat if bradley nowell had lived? janis joplin? jim morison? jimi hendrix? the world will never know...

i can see youre point, but some drugs are bad, not all mind you, but a good percantage of them are. stuff like marijuana, and lsd are not bad, but the harder stuff like coke, crack, meth, heroin, etc... are bad, they do major damage to youre body, and ruin familys, and peoples lives. ive never heard of a pot head robbing a bank, or overdosing.
