i think that, realistically, blair hasn't got a chance of surviving into may 2007 with all the controversy he is facing at present. if he wants the least humiliating exit from power, then he will leave sooner rather than later, but sadly i think that he will cling onto the mess he has made of his governmental power until the bitter end (and lets face it, its going to be bitter).
i have heard a few interesting thoughts on what blair will do before his exit though, and i cant help but think that maybe these thoughts aren't as ridiculous as i originally thought... a few people have said that the euro will be introduced. there will be a referendum and everybody will say no, but we will still end up with the euro. only then will the british public see the true extent of blair and the labour governments corruption. this will also set the new leader the unenviable task of trying to rebuild the british publics (shattered) confidence in the government. i hope that this is a ridiculous and far fetched thought but it must have come from somewhere.

He has already made peace with the next person to lead the party with the assurance that he would step down after a year. So he would go for a good one year.

Thinks he will last to March 2007, so the next leader can help them through to the next local elections.

No I do not think he will stay because people have lost all faith in him. I think he is the best prime minister britain has ever had and I think its wrong that people are stabbing him in the back in this way. Although I initially supported his views relating to Iraq I now realise that he was wrong. He should have supported America but distanced himself from that evil fool Bush. Its a pity because those actions have over shadowed all the good he has done.

Unless he pulls something really stupid, I think the public will be willing to leave him some face.
