i know a girl who, when she asked the guy out, she picked him up in her car, took him flowers, opened doors for him, and footed the dinner bill. her arguement was that she was responsible for all this as she did the asking. if it had have been the other way round, then he would have picked HER up, took HER flowers, opened doors for her, etc.....what do you think?

Why not? There shouldn't have any discrimination in this country...

I don't mind if a girl lets on really strongly that she wants to be asked out...

I mean, that makes it so much easier for people who like each other to get to know each other. Otherwise, and most of the time, everything's just a confusing mess.

None of the other stuff is appropriate, though. If a girl forced down my throat that she was paying my bill, I'd steal her bank account number and deposit money into it.

If she opened the door for me, then it's a sign she's looking to be a controlling chick, and i don't need that. That's a decent relationship with a miserably angry break-up just waiting to happen.

Well, for different people and places some things are more common, after all its 2006, its not exactly taboo anymore. I think its nice that the girl has real interest in the guy and isnt a gold digger (sorry to use such a term, but its accurate for MANY professional daters, aka women).

well ive asked out a guy but it would be a little weird if i would take him flowers. i think girls should sometimes take the first step. i personally like taking turns paying cause a guy should know im not gonna want him to take care of everything for me. i see nothing wrong with it

Wow how can i meet her?

Seriously he should make the reach, (reach for his wallet and pay) as in make the attempt to pay, etc. Even though it's semi sexist the guy should at least attempt to pay. Now if they had been going out for months and he and been the gentlemen and she wanted a date to reciprocate then it would actually be fun for a change.

I think if he's comfortable with it, it's a great idea. My man loves it when I send him flowers at his office, even if it makes his co-workers ask if somebody died.

He also likes to recieve toy helicopters and cars, but he's a guy, right?

I always pay, drive (unless we just meet up somewhere) and open the doors whether the date was initiated by me or not. Maybe that's corny in this day and age, but I still believe in chivalry.

This is a "WHAT IF?" situation right? Never really happened right? If not please introduce me to this girl.
Nowdays, girls asking guys out isn't as weird as I don't know like 10 years ago? But I never heard of a girl who did the above though.

i think if you ask a guy out on a date you shouldn't act like the man should act.i think you should go dutch.&let him open the door.
